I recently received a tub of the Pure African Shea Butter to try and in all honesty I was unsure what to do with it. So I took to Google, which in turn lead me to Pinterest (which I was not surprised by a bit). I found several recipes/ideas for the Shea Butter and decided to try the quickest easiest one. That lead to Whipped Shea Butter by Packing Rainbows. Of course I have this thing in which I have to do my own thing and veer away from the original recipe of everything I make. Call it stubborn or wanting to be different, both are very likely. Any who, I looked in my pantry and did not have any Almond Oil so I had to improvise. Google it was again, for substitutes. Finally after a few minutes I discovered I could substitute Vegetable Oil for the missing Almond Oil. I cut the recipe in thirds as I was unsure of myself. The results Whipped Shea Butter! I added Peppermint Oil and Vitamin E Oil because both are great for your skin and with all of this crazy Southern weather I need the extra moisture. The Shea Butter is very thick but when it is whipped with the other ingredients its very creamy and smooth. If you have dry skin this is a must for you! This product is oily but the more you rub it in the more your skin absorbs the oil!
Combine all ingredients into a bowl and mix until frothy. The color will be a yellowish but will eventually fluff up and turn white, so do not get discouraged. Packing Rainbow also suggested the ingredients and measurements were completely up to you and your preference (which is one reason I experimented). Add your Whipped Shea Butter into a beautiful glass bottle with a ribbon to make a great gift! ENJOY!
